Who or what is EFAD? Some quick facts and numbers here below. For more information, see the EFAD website at www.efad.org

  • The European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians (EFAD) was established in 1978.
  • In 2018 EFAD had 33 National Dietetic Association members
  • EFAD represents over 35,000 dietitians 
  • These dietitians live in 29 European countries 
  • There are 38 Education Associate Members
  • The General Meeting is made up of delegates from each of the Member Associations.
  • The Federation is directed by the General Meeting and managed by an Executive Committee.
  • Annemieke van Ginkel-Res is the Honorary President of EFAD
  • EFAD has links with other organisations in the field of nutrition and dietetics and with other professionals.
  • EFAD does not pursue any political, religious or financial ends

On Thursday, 31 October, there are several pre-conference activities available:

  • Visit the ForwardFarm to see modern farming up close
  • Catch the EFAD Obesity workshop if you missed it at ECO2019 in May.
  • Brush up your evidence-based practice skills by attending the free PEN workshops
  • Get some accredited learning hours by attending the ESPEN LLL workshop on assessment
  • Students day (only for students) – an opportunity to meet other student dietitians and learn about issues important to students.
